Is there anything to buy ?

One of my reader ask me why no new recommendation of stocks. Well, I told her I'm still offloading my current stocks that I purchase for quite a while as I believe current market is considered a bit risky to buy if one does not have time to monitor closely for a fast in fast out trading. I do not have this time luxury.

As recently, I'm damn busy and stress out, I just want to clear my long position and wait for market to correct before screening for stocks again. So, to trade/invest successfully, PATIENCE is one of the utmost criteria needed.

Well, btw I believe HSL has some more room to go, lets see how is it till the quarterly results season starts.

Thanks for recommending HSL. I bought it @1.33, and today close @1.57. Wow, it takes less then 3mths to grow. So, when is the quarterly results starts? Should I sell it before election?

  2. Hi Anonymous, good to hear that you bought it at 1.33, well she is gaining momentum as I will foresee once she touch 1.61~1.74, there may be a pull back, before continue her run till the quarterly results which would be around end of Feb2012. Everyone is thinking not to keep shares till election as everyone is worry the BN effect will bring a low to our market as seen in 1998.

  3. I always tried to learn technical analysis, but unsuccessful.

When we trade using technical analysis, there will always be stocks to buy right? Even during quiet market or downtrend, there will always be some stocks going up.

Or else, we can shift attention to other overseas markets who are having uptrend. Now that we can buy foreign stocks easily by using our local broker.

If we are brave enough, when there is a sell signal, we can "short" the Futures in derivatives market.

That's the beauty of technical analysis. But sadly, I don't know how.

If u want to trade all market, stock, futures, forex, gold and so on, maybe u should look into TREND TRADING.

  4. Hi Polite Market,

Have you ever started seriously learning TA ? By books ? Well, to me, by books need quite a lot of trial & error. You need a sifu to guide you, then you may improve fast and remember to be a specialist, you cant be expert in a few months, you need time & real practices, is like learning to fly a fighter plane, you need hours & hours of simulation & real practice. And when graduate, also need to follow strict rules & full alert, a little hesitant will leads to disaster.
For TA, I would say it will work mainly if you trade following the trend. So, in Malaysia market, you only can trade when the index is on uptrend. Well, now is quite globalised, normally so world indexes go quite in tandem.
My advise is, even one is good at TA trading stocks, he/she may not able to do well in Futures, do not that futures have one more unfavourable factor - Time where the contract end every month. So I would say not many can really earn using TA in Malaysia future market.

  5. I have read books and many years ago, I even have worked in a company that sell technical analysis software.

These sifu in the company are not making money. But I still think that it will work, just that I am not good at it.

    TA have too many "if".

That is why in my blog I can only blog on fundamentals where I have see good returns.

Futures you can trade the next month contract, which give you sufficient or more time.

  6. Well, true, there is too many "if" in TA. Also, the chart is like a girl, one may find her attractive, others find her average, but some will find stunning :)

So, as long as you chose a girl who is attractive to most of the people then it will be good for her to up the price, you know what I mean ?

Thats why I'm trying to be a hybrid, mixing the fundamental into TA where these may increase the probability further. As long as you see good returns in using fundamentals, I dont see why you should change your strategy. If you want to mix it with TA, I'm more than willing to share & learn from each other. Well, you do have a good blog. Btw, do recommend your readers to my blog also, if you find cmy blog interesting & educating.
